    Stretches for Dancers

I agree with Me. It all boils down to, if you don't want to dedicate the time, you might as well not bother. It doesn't just magically happen. So many people think that they can stretch 30 minutes every other day and become rubber in 3 weeks. NO. It's gonna take months, maybe years. One thing...

    Stretches for Dancers

Ah, same here, Chiron. Before classes, performances, whatever. I do hop around a little, like jog in place, just to get blood flowing my my muscles. It really helps. Also, stretching in the morning is a great way to wake up ;) I stretch every morning after I take my shower.

    Stretches for Dancers

I start off with warming my muscles off. I run up and down the stairs, jog outside, jumping jacks, whatever. It's a true pain to start stretching if your muscles are cold. I don't do this for long, only a few minutes. After that, I do a forward stretch. Knees straight, try to touch the floor...

    Stretches for Dancers

:D I love this topic hehe. I started contortion about a year ago, and I wasn't flexible AT ALL. I couldn't even get down into the splits! But now, I can do 1 foot oversplits with almost no pain at all. But it takes time. It takes a LOT of time. I do 4 hours of stretching EVERY day, no matter...

    Lively Cha Cha Songs?

Hey all! I am looking for some lively cha cha songs to dance to at home and at lessons, as my teacher lets me bring my own music in. Could you all help me find several lively, fun, cha cha songs? Thanks! I really appreciate it! :) -Emily

    Dance clothes question :]

Would it be acceptable to wear capri-length black leggings to practices? I would like to wear something like leggings and a shirt, because it's easy to move in, light, and is comfortable. But I'm afraid that it may look...inappropiate? I don't know lol. But would it be acceptable to wear...

    Dresses for social dances...

So tomorrow night, my friend and I are going to a local social (salsa) dance. We are planning on buying some cute dresses at the mall to wear. Is there anything specific you should look for or avoid when buying a dress for salsa? Thanks! -Em

    Embarrassing toes. Normal? Lol

Laura, I've got a bad bunion on my left foot. The tendons have gotten so stressed that I can't even lift that toe anymore, so we're going to be looking into surgery :S I wear 2 1/2 in heels, open toe. I love my shoes xD Haha. I've done contortion for a couple of years now. Backbend contortion -...

    Embarrassing toes. Normal? Lol

Haha. I do love walking around at school with flip flops and toe tape all over my feet! :) People look at me and go "Emily, why are you so...proud of yourself today?" Mt response: *Points to toes* "A dancer's bling bling! At a low cost of $2.75!"
