    Roll through the heel

Haha yes that would be very funny though i wasnt going to walk backwards, just practice "rolling through the heel" which should be the same in either direction (and no Mladenac not in my fancy heeled shoes, those are stricly for the dancefloor!) but your right actually people would laugh anyway...

    Roll through the heel

Mmm, thanks steve. Not sure if they were talking about style or not, the belief seemed to be that you get a "smoother ride" by rolling across the whole foot rather than just dropping it down flat. honestly I take quite soft steps anyway even without "rolling", it might not be totally catlike...

    Roll through the heel

Hi so i was in a big class last week with a new couple teaching us, and they said to "roll through the heel". Before I was just plonking my foot down flat as I stepped back, but now they want us to lift the toe a little bit right after the heel strike. At the moment Im trying to get used to it...

    Cross Crisis

Yes, that was the one I meant. Used to be able to do it without a problem but I wasn't really thinking what I do. Then we had this visiting teacher (he was from Argentina, she was from some other part of the world Far East I think). He kept saying don't immediately step on the crossing foot...

    Cross Crisis

With various partners. I don't have a fixed one. See who cabesayoes me first then decide. I always let the man do the asking;) I don't know anyone who dances alone, didnt even know that was possible!

    Cross Crisis

No offence taken! I just didn't know why the conversation had wandered in multiple directions. But rise and fall and Lilly have explained that (i think). I didn't get the pole dancing reference though. My friend does pole dancing and she started tangoes too a while ago (she's less advanced than...

    Cross Crisis

Gosh well I was excited to see so many replies, although seems like the conversation's gone a bit off-topic so I don't know what that's about. But I'm new here so fair enough I guess, and thank you for helping me with my problems! :) For those who thought my dancing was maybe getting a bit too...

    Cross Crisis

Thank you Steve, it's nice to know I wasn't completely wrong. The odd thing is I don't completely know what I was doing before but I think it must have been a change of feet and a backstep with the right foot. It was sort of automatic for a few years but I got a new teacher lately and he's been...

    Cross Crisis

OK wonderful so much help thank you thank you! So what I’m hearing is that there are multiple varieties of croses and what exact method I need depends on which variety I choose to do. Funny to think I’ve been dancing for years and never realized about all these possibilities. I think I must’ve...

    favourite celebrity tango dancers/couples?

OMG The Costas are my faves!!!!! :inlove: I actually saw them in live performance once, in London about 5 or 6 years ago. I had only been learning tangoes for a few months at the time and I was just flabbergasted! Never had a chance to watch them live again although I've seen so many of their...

    Cross Crisis

Okay so I could have called this "Cross Trouble" with less drama, I just think "Cross Crisis" sounds better! SO I never used to have this trouble before, something's changed, anyway when I do a cross it's the usual thing, step back with my right foot, then bring the left leg over the...

    Tango : Romance vs Technique

I never close my eyes but I do avoid getting too far away from the man, also I step closer to him if it's busy on the floor as I feel like I'm getting in everyone's way otherwise.

    Not touchy feely

Oh totally, I completely understand some women love their guys to be a bit insecure! I'm just saying for me it kills those tangoe tingles ;)

    Not touchy feely

You should maybe try Cèilidh, it's a lot less touchey-feeley than Tangoes... anyway good luck whatever you choose to do! Honestly I don't tolerate this kind of beta whining from males, I'm surprised she puts up with it
