    Tinted self-tanner: recommendations?

I've also used the St Tropez - the mousse - really easy to see where you are applying it and dries really quickly.

    WCS Conventions

Its starting to grow - there is now enough people to have an event like that, with Jack & Jill, Novice and Open categories in the competition (although the Novice was won by a couple who came over from France!). The event was well supported and date and venue already set for next year. :D

    WCS Conventions

Was at the first UK convention and comp last weekend. Workshops (with guest US teachers), comps and social dancing. Fab!

    Spam private messages - "greeting"

Got one too. Really annoying that people can do this but I guess there is no way of preventing it.

    Appropriate dress for Milongas?

Interesting, didn't think of that about the backs... The nearest milonga to me is 3 hours drive, so I don't go very often and there isn't really anywhere/any time to change when I get there, so anything too fancy would get messed up on the long drive. Its usually black trousers and a nice top...

    Dancing with a physical disability

It probably is - I didn't notice flashing lights but it was in the blues room so maybe he had them turned off!

    Dancing with a physical disability

Though I know of one blind dancer whom a friend said she would introduce (but unfortunately didn't get a chance) as it was difficult for him to ask people to dance as he can't see if they were a man or a woman. I find people dancing with 'disablities' very inspiring and encouraging - if ever I...

    Dancing with a physical disability

I danced with someone a few weeks ago who is in a wheelchair. It was simple modern jive moves. I guess he is limited in what he can lead (and height of partner) but he was able to lead me with one hand and direct his chair with the other. It was a nice dance and next time I asked him to dance...

    Tango shoes as street shoes

You should - I would if I could get them at BsAs prices!

    Tango shoes as street shoes

I mean things like my plain black Freed Marissas. The insides look awful, the soles are really worn, but I can polish up the leather to look good enough to wear with a nice pair of dress trousers - eg did this at a work conference on Fri night. I have an identical new pair that I keep for...

    Tango shoes as street shoes

If you let your suede soles go shiny then they will be 'slippy' - but if you look after them and keep them well brushed theny they should give you good grip. I wear my suede soled shoes to give me good grip on the dance floor (but not as much grip as street shoes as I don't want my knees to be...

    Local scene gong downhill (fast)

Yep, I have musicians earplugs - but using them too much can damage your hearing too - your ear then strains to hear and you can get too senstive to sound. (Not sure if you already need to have a level of hyperacusis in the first place for this to be a serious problem.) I know too many people...

    Local scene gong downhill (fast)

Smoky venues. Check. Overcrowded venues with people who can't dance salsa crashing about on the floor. Check. Two of the main reasons I stopped going to salsa classes - what's the point in going to classes if you don't enjoying dancing it socially? (The other reasons were floors that were...

    All London things!

I was there about a month ago. Full of ballerinas and their non ballet shoes on display in the corner (I'm a Freed fan and have 7 pairs of Freed shoes). I asked about trying on two styles - Milano - none in that size in stock and Lydia - they don't stock it in that shop (why have it on...
