What mp3 player to get for teacher?

I apologize if I made my first post confusing, but this is not a gift. I'm an instructor myself and know a few that consider buying an mp3 player to help with teaching / DJing / choreography. I appreciate all replies, but they seem to have strayed way too far from the actual topic. Let's bring...

What mp3 player to get for teacher?

Which mp3 player would you recommend for a dance instructor and why? I'm thinking in terms of size, ease of use, video capabilities, availability of portable speakers, ease of music transfer, price, etc. Basically all the things that an average person considers when buying an mp3 player, but...

Different ways of teaching Cha Cha Cha

I hate to agree with you there, but it's true... About 90% of balroom Cha-Chas (and Sambas) are very monotone, almost like listening to techno music.

Different ways of teaching Cha Cha Cha

The way I was taught Cha-Cha basic back in Ukraine was like this (simplified of course ;)): 1 - prep. step to the side on the right foot 2 - step forward on left 3 - rock back on right 4-&-1 (or Cha-Cha-Cha) - chasse to the left 2 - step back on right 3 - rock forward on left 4-&-1 -...

How long do your dancing shoes last?

I usually buy SupaDance shoes and so far I have been very happy with them, they last me years. That could be because I am trying to take a very good care of them. I never wear them at the club, only at the studio and for showcases. I try not to brush them too much, and use sand paper instead of...

    Abusive towards your dance partner?

liangjz, if I didn't know any better, I'd think I was reading my own post just now :). My partner also thinks I'm being very critical with her, and I most likely am. She also hates my "thinking face".

Girl's Role in the Cross body

I have to agree with Danish Guy. Teaching her at this point can do more harm than good. I think teaching should be left to professionals. And BTW, they way I teach ladies CBL is: On 1,2,3 do first half of the basic as usual. 5,6 - two steps forward (left on 5, right on 6) 6& - turn left on...

    Abusive towards your dance partner?

dTas, I wish I read knew these things a year ago... it would save me so much trouble. I just started practicing with a different girl. When I practice with my girlfriend we would argue and fight all the time. Mostly because we have different goals/aspirations for Salsa. The situation is exactly...

    Tired...?

You're describing my situation, squirrel. What helps me is a change of routine. That's why I just quit one of my teaching jobs, I used to teach 4 days a week on top of my day job as well. Try allocating some time just for yorself, relax, take a break. You need to recharge your energy.
