We're gonna get together:banana:

Saturday evening works for more if its not too early. Of course, anytime Sunday is ok except for 10 minutes when we're on the floor!

I wish I could import that dancing figure from Skype - hmmmm

In addition to Friday evening, Saturday morning, Sunday morning, it looks like I'll be there Sunday evening, as well, so I can join Gumby and reb's cheering sections. reb, maybe I could be a groupie? Would your wife be jealous if I brought a really large sign that said, "MARRY ME, REB"? ;)

Holey Moley!

If you do, one of us will have to come up and kiss you!!

While she can intimidate (she's buff, quick, powerful, worldly-wise, and particularly merciless to mean people . . .), she's a pretty secure individual. Me on the other hand . . .

We'll be there Saturday evening as well, competing. I know what Reb, Gumby and Laura look like, but I guess I'll have to identify TC by the sign :)

DFers met here so far this evening include latingal, Laura, Standard Dancer, DancerForLife, Dan Post, and star gazers offspring

didn't get to say hi - but saw - Yaniv and tbrennen in action on the floor

hope to see gumby and TC tomorrow, usually see DrDoug in these parts . . .

Anyone else??

Comps in this location (SF Open, IGB, Holiday dance camp) always seem to have an upbeat atmosphere which adds to the enjoyment.

Amateur Championship Standard had 4 orange (orange-red? guys eyes, it was dark, from a distance . . . ) dresses in the final.

I'm sitting at Table 25 for the Sunday evening session. DFers, please say hi if you see me. Look for a short guy who's much shorter sitting down (5'6" standing in ballroom heels ;) ) wearing a sea-green tie and navy-blue jacket.

Nice event, nice decorations, was fun to have the large TV screen up. Seemed bigger than in prior years, more vendor activity too.

Yep, entries were definitely way up! If you didn't come this year -- come next year! They really tried to make it a nice comp. The people in many of the Pro/Am Scholarship events won money AND vouchers for prizes or discounts from the likes of Erica Ridgeway Couture, Dore', Dancemo, Paradigm Video, Danz2000, Aidia Dance Wear, Champion Dance Shoes, and Designs to Shine. Nice me.tal with enamel medals were awarded to Amateur and Pro/Am winners, the dinners for the package holders were quite tasty, the competition floor was lovely (no m.etal rails to slip on!), and the ballroom sold out on Saturday night. There were a good number of afternoon spectators as a couple of different senior or church groups came in by bus, awards were presented on a red carpet... So come next year, it's a good time.
