1. Productions is seeking teams to perform in several performances in 2003, including one at the Kennedy Center. Interested? Contact Barb Bernstein at 301-980-6043*. She teaches rueda at the Avalon
Studio, Catonsville, on Mon nights and on other nights in the DC area. (Remember rueda? It is a latin circle dance.) (7) Darryl Silvers, former US Rising Star Latin champion and current standard professional has
relocated to the DC area. He is the son of Larry Silvers, Florida. Larry Silvers was honored by Deans during one of their Triple Crown Events several years ago for his contributions to the field of competition

2. Head of State, a new movie due out Mar 27th, which was written, directed, and starred in by Chris Rock, a black comedian, who isseen here at the 1st black President of the US. Some Baltimore and DC
dancers participated in this show, filmed in both cities. One of the "DC"stars is Terry Chasteen of Chevy Chase Ballroom, DC. He was listening to Entertainment Tonight when the mention of his films caused his eyes and ears to perk up. He saw Vicky Chapman, amateur dancer from N. VA, with three other women who had done a cameo scene that Rock invented right on the set. I saw her too on another nite when I caught a glimpse of a commercial for the same show. Chasteen reports the women are awesome.
Vicky even has a speaking part, he says. Then the scene switched to he and Sharon Savoy doing the hiphop. Chasteen plans to sell his autograph and plant his footprints in the cement in Hollywood. I like his
enthusiasm and congratulate him for not landing on the cutting room floor. I plan to catch the movie soon. I hope you will too.
