Murat and Michelle, Look of Love

You know, this is sad for me to watch, in a way. I have always loved Michelle's crisp and energetic style of dancing, but lately I find her becoming less and less of a personal favorite. This video is a perfect example of why.

Most new videos I see of her dancing seem less like dancing and more like didactic demonstrations of adornments. I really, really wish she'd take her dancing back to the way it was a few years ago. Very classy stuff.

Interesting. i can't watch now, but will have to later on.

Generally, I don't care to watch the two of them perform--live or on video. Too showy for my taste. But watching them social dance...pure heaven. (Alas, I've never had the pleasure of dancing with him socially. But from what I felt in a lesson, he's an incredible leader. One of only a handful of occasions when it felt like mind-reading going on. A total non-lead lead. Amazing.)

See, that is part of my frustration (and sadness). They are extremely capable and elegant. I do not understand why the showcases seem to become increasingly adornified. (Yay, another new DF word - adornified.) Michelle also has that fierce "stage presence" thing going on - You want to watch her dance. She doesn't need all of the icing...

...eesh...

Overly adornoficated, IMO; not a fan of the leg flailing. *shrug* I guess it makes the two of them happy.

I agree though, Me, she's a stunning dancer on her own without all of the extra stuff in there. Just dance--traditional or nuevo, I don't care--without all of the (IMO) superfluous adornos...it's so much more beautiful.
