Noisy neighbours

Have you ever had them? How did you deal with them/handle it? I don't have this, THANKFULLY but enquiring minds would like to know

Not anymore. But there were a couple of families living around me that I had to call the cops on. Music was so loud, that the whole building was shaking. At 7am. Nutty People. And...they weren't even playing Salsa. :? Note to self: I need to move soon.

You do just that sabor, but suppose you want quiet? Never had that problem now that I'm not in college. In college I was the RA so I would bang on their door and tell them to quiten down. They didn't I wrote them up. And breathed down their necks. Next fire drill....their room was chosen and thoroughly inspected for violations of fire code etc, and then really big hot water!!! The soon found out it wasn't worth being disrespectful to the other people in the dorm. :)

Sagitta. You were evil!

I've actually been pretty lucky with neighbors... except for the one time I lived upstairs from a lonely retired widow, who would watch for my comings and goings, and always conveniently manage to burst out of the door of her apartment as I walked by. And then, of course, she wanted to have long, gossipy conversations. Even at 7:00 in the morning, when I was on my way to work. :x

She really irked me at the time, but in retrospect, I provided her a little entertainment in the last years of her life. She passed away about a year after I moved. :(

I live next door to your stereotypical "Neighbors From Hell" :? :?

When we first moved in, all the estate agents boards were left up for about 2 weeks.
During the very first week we were here, the neigbor who we have dubbed "The Witch" called up the agents and said that, my children were throwing rocks at her house, that we had been playing loud music late at nights and that my partner had been physically abusing me during the daytime and they could hear it ......

Firstly, my children were aged 22 months and 6 months, I carefully explained that if my son could in fact throw that well that I would enrol him in the AIS cricket squad now.
Second, we hadnt even unpacked our stereo yet, not to mention the fact that by 8pm every night my house was dead silent so I wouldnt wake my sleeping babies.
And the physical abuse bit...well I dont know why she would add that , but my partner works from 10am to 10pm every day and I offered to show her his timesheets...wonder why she wasnt interested...????

Not to mention that her pet peacock has ruined our shed roof by jumping all over it, her cats use my flower beds and the kids sand pit as a toilet
Her 12 year old daughter has parties at least twice a month, nd we have to deal with pumping music that shakes the walls till all hours (numerous calls to the police have done little) and we end up with empty alcohol cans and bottles in our front and back yard, that they throw over, Im scared one day they will hit the window where my daughters bedroom is.

I could go on forever about these horrors!

Eek! That's about the worst I've heard.

I guess my next door neighbors' habit of dropping by unannounced for a chat seem, well, really nice. :D I'm lucky. 8)

I'm sorry Shydancer!! I feel for you, with kids and all, and having to deal with that!

Pygmalion I was the RA!! I had to do what was the best for the majority. If the whole dorm wanted to party I would be okay with it. I've let parties rock the house when appropriate.

Several years ago I lived in what was supposed to be a pleasant suburb; that is until the neighbours from Hell decided to move into the apartment next door. There were six unemployed teenagers who sat outside at all hours of the day and night talking loudly, swearing profusely, yelling and screaming, arguing and skateboarding until 2.00am up and down the driveway. This was mostly during weekdays as well!!!!
On one occassion I came home to find my letterbox padlocked and i'm certain it was them. (The padlock disappeared several days later).
I moved to another suburb, as had several other residents, not long afterwards.
I didn't bother to complain at the time as I was intending on moving anyway but I would never want to have neighbours like them again.

I once had a neighbor that would wash his car in the winter, spilling water all over the street and sidewalk. Overnight the water would freeze on the street and the cars/people etc would all slip during the morning rush to work.

I don't have a noisy neighbour, but i do have an annoying one. The person comes up every time i start playing piano (and i only play during day time!) and starts yelling @ me.....eek, i wish i could report him!!

Quite a few years ago I had a basement apartment in my house. I rented to a newlywed couple once. Never again.
