I was wondering if anyone has been instructed and can comment about a technique recently introduced to me where when driving on a forward step you allow your upper and lower core, in proper alignment on relaxed knees, to fall forward versus pushing from the driving standing leg. As you fall forward you delay your arriving leg so as to allow your arriving leg to extend and catch your weight to collect. During a back step, you extend the back leg early to catch your weight. You continue to dance allowing your body to continue moving and your legs catch the weight. I hope I explained this correct. I am working on this technique and have found that it improved my movement. The movement is now smoother and relaxed. In addition it seems like I am taking smaller steps but in reality I am moving further. If I explained this correctly does anyone have an opinion or thoughts on this technique.
