Sort of related to the "original music" thread... There's a line in Brian Setzer's "Ghost Radio" that references a dance called the "straight line swing". The song name-checks Bob Willis and the Texas Playboys and references the year 1935, so I'm guessing it's some variant of Western swing, but Google and Bing haven't come up with anything. The videos that they have turned up of various forms of country swing are definitely not slot dances. Is it possible that this was some early form of West Coast swing? I'm not sure if it was Brian's intent that the song be one that straight line swing might have been danced to, but the tempo is definitely too fast for contemporary WCS.
