Some of you know that I've spent a fair amount of time looking onto the history of one or two dances. It's probably no surprise that people have taught more than one thing as "Texas Two Step." So, I got out my books and wrote down a few things.

The Texas Two Step actually includes three steps – a quick step, a quick step, and then a slow step.

* Notice that. if the second step was to be changed to a (RT)TOG(FWDl-l.
the first part would be a (LTlTWO-STEP-4; which would turn the Texas

not a Two-step. It is called a Two-step because it is an offshoot of
the "old" Cowboy Two-step. It's actually a Foxtrot!

The Texas Shuffle Step posted above sounds very much like the AZ 2Step or the Rhythm 2S. AX 2S is very popular in AZ because it is easy to learn, and because it has little or no progresion it lends itself to small dance floors. Even less room than NC2.
