So... who saw it and what do you think?

i thought that it was good, i enjoyed it... but i also found it quite dis-joint. it didn't flow from one thing to another and took a lot of concentration to keep up with all the plot changes.

both my son and my wife (who read the book, i didn't) thought that there was too much cut out (as usual).

there were some scenes and subjects that i couldn't figure out why they were in the book and could have been left out for more informative things to help support the main plots.

comments anyone?

wow, you must've gone to the premier night! I don't think i'm going to see G&F for another week or so - the movie theatre will be jam packed with ppl!

But i wouldn't be surprised if they cut out a lot of the stuff.....

I took my mom to see it in IMAX on Sunday. We both enjoyed it, but I agree that some of it seemed pretty disjointed. We've both read the books, so we knew what was supposed happen, as well as what was going to happen.

What seemed out of place, dTas? Like I said, I was able to follow because I had read the books...I don't know if it would have been different had I not read them over the summer.

I can't wait to see this movie. Goblet of Fire is far the best book of the series. It's my favorite & I've read good critics' review on this one. It'd better not disappoint me - if they expect me to sit thru 2 hrs 30 min in that theater!

Now I read this book over 2 years ago...Probably won't remember much of the details. Hopefully I can follow!

I kind of agree with dTas about the disjointedness. I think that if you have not read the book, you will be a bit confuzled by the movie.

It's released here 1 December. I know what I'll be doing at some stage over that weekend! :D

I guess we'll have to declare this thread spoiler-free til next week, then.

Nah I've read the book, so you won't spoil anything for me. Is this the same director that did the third movie because I was a little disappointed that one didn't follow the book as well as the other two.

Gabe, Angel and I loved the Goblet of Fire. Gabe has read the book however Angel and I have not. Gabe also felt that there were some things left out that shouldn't have been but he loved it just the same and has seen it twice so far.

Nope. A new director. This director did the 4 weddings & a funderal. He's British, as opposed to the other American directors (at least that's what the reviews said).

The movie was quite different than the other 2.. I liked the visuals a lot (that applies to all the movies in the series)...
