Making money at dance comps

Just curious. Does anybody actually make money from dance competitions? Promoters? Competitors? Teachers? Who makes money, how and how much? Lots? Little? No actual dollar figures, please. :lol: :wink: Anybody have the scoop, or observations?

IF the event is a success, the promoters make quite a bit of money.
The judges make a little, but they make more a result of the coaching jobs they receive as a result of their position. Teachers make quite a bit, especially if they take lots of students or win top teacher awards, but the numbers vary widely. I'm not aware of competitors making a significant income, but successful competitors get coaching jobs as a result of their success.
