Experience with Eckse shoes?

I've heard some good stuff about Eckse shoes before but never came around to buy a pair myself? How are Eckse shoes for ladies compared to the Dance Naturals or Supadance? Do they usually have more room? How about Eckse standard shoes for guys? Anyone has experience with those? Thanks.

Love them, love them, love them :)

used to wear Supadance latins. switched to Eckse a year and a half ago and couldn't be happier with them. Great comfort, flexibility, and support. (just keep in mind if ordering them that a 3" heel with them is equivalent to a 2.5" heel in any other brand)

Don't know about the guys shoes though
 
RID - where do you get your shoes? I have a friend that used to get them at Patterson's, but they were taking an incredibly long time and she has since found a guy in CT who can get them in less than 1/2 the time. If you want, either of you, I can find out who/phone #...just pm me and I'll ask my friend.
 
I have a pair of Eckse latin shoes and like them much better than my previous Celebrity ones (love Celebrity smooth shoes, though). The stability is much better.

I'm not sure how sturdy they are, though. I have a very strong tendency for my weight to shift to the outside edge and the heels get twisted in a way that encourages that even more. I went to a good shoemaker to see what he could do about it. After much examination, he took them in both hands and just twisted them back in place. So that's what I do from time to time. Mine are leather and are also starting to stretch a bit more than I'm used to with satin shoes, so I would probably go with a smaller size next time.

They are the best I've found so far, but I'm still in search of the perfect latin shoe.
 
How do Eckse ladies latin shoes compare to Ray Rose? Has anyone tried both of these shoes - what are your experiences in terms of quality, flexibility, comfort, sole padding, heel placement, etc. I would esp. be interested in those who have worn the Ray Rose Blizzards - whether the is a comparable Eckse shoe.
 
I know this is a bit of an old thread, but I was wondering if anyone knew a retailer besides Patterson's in Boston? I can't find anyone through either Google or the Eckse website.

Thanks, you two. I received a pm to the same effect and gave them a call this morning. They didn't have what I was looking for, but they're checking to see if the US distributor has them. If not, I'll just place an order.

Buying Eckse shoes in my honest opinion is waste of money. There are a lot of better shoes sellers. I had almost all kind of shoes except DanceLife and my list of best (for sure in my opinion) shoes sellers:
1. RayRose - especially Bryan models
2. Dance Naturals
3. International Dance-Shoes
4. Supadance
Eckse in nothing in comparison to these..
 
Sanco, what is your experience wearing Eckse?

Sor those looking to find an Eckse retailer in the D.C. Area, I just learned that Elan Dancesport in Fairfax, VA has them now.
 
I know this thread is old but wanted to add my two cents since I have some experiences with Eckse, International, and Ray Rose. Just so you all know where I'm coming from, I have narrow feet and especially narrow heels.

I started with International because that was what was recommended to me by a fellow dancer who has really narrow feet. I wore the Melissa. It was comfortable but I found that each subsequent pairs I received stretched out sooner and sooner. It's annoying and the heel is the first thing to go. Up until it stretches out, it is very comfortable and does move with my feet well.

I then tried Ray Rose. I didn't even bother keeping them. They're BEAUTIFUL and fit my narrow feet well, BUT, no heel support for me whatsoever. I wish they worked for me because they're so pretty. Well padded and definitely moves well with my feet, but again, my heels slipped around and I just couldn't feel stable in them.

I started wearing Eckse about 7 months ago, I absolutely love them. Good padding, great stability, fits great for my narrow feet, great heel support, and not stretching out fast at all. I am sticking with Eckse for as long as I can.

Supadance, from what I can see (have yet to try on a pair), has great padding and I've heard really great things about it. However, I also heard that it's not that great for narrow feet. But if someone who's a big supadance fan has a recommendation for narrow feet/heel, I'm ALL ears :)

Lastly, just a general FYI, Patterson in MA (backbay online), will no longer be carrying Eckse (they just told me yesterday). The last time I ordered a pair from Patterson it took 12 weeks! 12 WEEKS!!! eventhough they said 6-8 weeks.... Anyway, I just spoke to Swingtime yesterday and they said they can rush it for 4 weeks (for no extra charge) or it would be here within 6 weeks. They've usually gotten shoes anywhere between 3 and 7 weeks. For those who are interested :)
 
What gives with Eckse? backbay is the only place I knew of that sold them. When I checked their site, I could only find one dealer, Global Dance Supply, based in CT. Hmm. :-? Oops! Re-read your post. I originally missed the part about swingtime. Just checked out the swingtime site. Their catalog is a little ... difficult to read through. (As in what styles, sizes and colors are available ready made? I couldn't tell.) But they do seem to offer Eckse, at least by special order. Please be sure to check in and let us know how your special order goes. I would be interested to hear. :cool:
