Hi everyone!

Since it s my first time here I owe you some presentation.
I come from Portugal and I do some ballroom dances, samba, but fell for Salsa!

Generally in Salsa nights in Portugal we interlace Salsa, not only with Merengue but also with Kizomba. Anyone knows what kizomba is? It s an African dance, from former Portuguese colonies, it is very sexy and danced very close with small moves.

If merengue is good for breaks to get something to drink or talk. When a Kizomba comes, no way, you ve got to get it!

I ve been reading the Forum for a while, that s awesome so much information!

Have a good weekend full of Salsa!

Thank you pygmalion!

I gess Kizomba is like zouk, but I am not sure.
One of the music more known at the moment is Aïcha!

Welcome to df KissOmba!! I know that casino is into kizomba!! That's where I first heard of it!! Then there is MadamSamba and a few others, including, casino, whom have done Zouk!! :) I would love to learn Kizomba, but then I am a dancing generalist who loves exploring all the different dances. And sexy with small moves is even better!! :)

Kizomba dance classes

Can anyone tell me where I can learn kisomba in New York? I just got back from Lisbon and when kizomba came on everyone went on the dancefloor...well everyone except my friend and I. it is such a sexy dance and guys look great dancing it. Now I just gotta find me the right partner and a place where they teach it and I'll be ready next time I hear it some on again.

Thanks

I was in Lisbon a few months back and witnessed this dance. I've been itching to learn the steps ever since - I couldn't quite get it by watching - it's a bit more complicated than Zouk or Bachata. I'm hoping there is some way of getting a lesson in Boston or New York... or at least getting a description in writing. Anyone have any luck, please let me know.

Ben

Hi bdemenil. Welcome. :D

I haven''t seen any listings, stateside, but I'll add Kizomba lessons to my :google: search list, and see if I find anything. 8)

Saw my first zouk and kizomba live demo in the states!

So, I've been searching and searching for a place where I can learn kizomba in new york. Well, I signed up for a samba gafiera class (which, btw, is a lot of fun!) and my instructors put on a demonstration of zouk and then of kizomba...my friend and I were sooo exctied. We're going totry and convince them to teach us the dance...finally some hope.
