Daylight Savings Time

Okay, Americans, fess up. How many of you truly forgot to change your clocks this morning, and showed up at church (or Barnes and Noble LOL) an hour late?

Be honest.

A friend of mine, who I will leave anonymous, clearly overlooked this as well...

We were on the phone this morning as he was driving into town and I was trying to get an estimate of when he thought he was going to get here. It quickly became apparent that it wasn't what time he thought it was...

Change clocks? Only becomes relevant when it's time to watch Law and Order or the Sopranos!

I lived for 6 years in Indiana, watching the whole world change around us. Daylight savings time is the dumbest idea anyone ever came up with. Where's the "Only in America" thread??

Was that where the idea came from - the US? There is a constant argument here with Queensland not having it, but most other states do. It just adds confusion and serves no purpose. I personally don't see the point of changing the clock twice a year. There are the same amount of hours, after all. You're not actually "saving daylight".

Not sure whose bright idea it was to start daylight savings time. It certainly makes for some long, leisurely summer evenings, though. There's another thread about this somewhere, which links to a page with more info.l It's by no means universal. Hmm. I'll find that link later today, Pacion.

I believe it started March 28 for most European countries.

I couldn't get up this morning, btw. Those first few days after the transition are tough for me. :?

Our daylight saving ended a week ago...it means summer is over  !

.......looks like I should start thinking about going north...........

yeah come here.. best salsa nights ever :P

One more example of the absent minded prof... the one I teach for missed lecture on Monday. Why? Daylight savings.
