Brent, Kellese and Ceroc
I'm just back from Ceroc in Southport and briefly meeting Brent and Kellese.
Clearly B and K had never encountered anything like MJ in terms of teaching methods or the size of the audience they had to deal with. It was also clear that in the previous week they had been on a 'Ceroc training course' to familiarise them with the process.
I was quite fun watching them learn as they taught.
They did good. . . .
As a WCS person however, it was dumbed down to nothing, and I ended up doing my own unofficial 'private class' in a corner of the hall to explain 1 2 triple triple.
It would have been much better if there were WCS taxi dancers and more importantly, WCS music.
I've seen WCS taught by the Ceroc method by Graham Fox, and he concentrates on getting folk to understand the rhythm by calling it out. It's very effective, but very like the chant we learned when I was doing rifle drill in the Army
On a second note, my brief encounter with Brent and Kellese (in the site convienience store) involved an explanation of the European 'Chip and Pin' system which means that US credit/debit cards don't work in Europe.
The card is valid, and will be accepted at banks and major hotels, but retailers will not be able to process it because signatures are not accepted.
So, before you leave the USA, make sure your card is chip and pin (the chip is embedded in the card) and you have a pin - personal identification number.
