Hope someone out there can give me so good site to get a good deal on some ballroom practice dance trousers. I many years ago bought a tailsuit from Ron Gunn and really like the feel of the trousers, but the cost now is probably way out of my reach. Want something in the 50 dollar range (wishfull thinking?).

my ex-partner got his practice trousers (for latin) from our seamstress... she also made my ballroom practice skirts... as well as our costumes.... we love her!!! lol

Someone should start a list of people who make this stuff on here.. like a regional board.. or list of comstum makers around the country.. eh.. I dont know.. I should have some turkish guy make me a tallsuit for dirt cheap while I'm over seas here!! you can get rather nice suits for 40 USD fully tailered!! maybe I can get some basic dance wear made while Im here.. WOOT WOOT!

Yeah but it won't be a dance tailsuit. They're made differently, and from my brief browse of the other thread, you don't need a tailsuit, or a regular suit, or anything like that right now. My impression was that you're getting started right? Just wear slacks and a shirt, and get some good dance shoes. That's all you need. Save the "gear" for when you're better.

My Mexx pants are breathable and very comfortable and it's ....
54% polyester, 34% viscose, 4% elasthane

Most of your pants should have polyster, viscose or wool

WOW - $40 for a tailsuit! I might be going on vacation to Turkey - may be worth a try to get one while I'm there :) Thanks!

define "rather nice"...heh.

BTW, turkey's a great place to buy leather coats, if you're in the market for that. my family's from greece, always getting various good buys from turkey. but a tailsuit for dance is different from a regular suit... i'd leave that one to the pros. ;)

heh, "rather nice" definitely has differnet definitions. just for the fabric for the suits I was gonna have made I was looking at minimum of $75-$150/meter. 3 meters if memory serves for 2 piece suit. Now the tailoring itself was certianly dirt cheap, but fabric, etc was definnitely not any cheaper there. Except for the counterfeit/fake stuff.

Haha... well I'm used to 500-800 Suits (which I always get on sale for much less.. ) . so I can see some flaws. they like making 3 button suits over here from some reason.. though they also make tuxedos, and I'd have to say, they are better made than the suits for the same price depending on which tailor you go to.. I'm sure if you gave the person a dance tailsuit design they could make one. maybe I'll experiment on a shirt or some pants..
