Shoe construction

There have been numerous threads about different types of shoes and makers. The only constant conclusion is that everyone is different, so the same shoe may not fit two people the same way. I was wondering if we could compile a place where people could look up the actual construction of a shoe. For example, if a shoe has a wider toe box, higher arches, the heel placement, shank length, etc...

No personal preferences, just plain facts. That way people who are looking to get new shoes of similar construction or a different construction have a place to start when going into a store is not an option.

Honestly, though, who goes around measuring their shoes? And how are you gonna know how long the shank is until your shoes either fall apart or you take them apart? Also, some things are subjective or comparative—how high is a "high arch" and how wide is a "wide toe box?"
