Dancing around your handbag?

Okay ladies, I have had an inspiration  How many of you find that you end up dancing around your handbag when out? Guys, does this ever happen to you? That you are dancing around your lady friends/wives handbags

Huh?

If you're asking what I think you're asking, I rarely take one. I just tuck a few (very few! few enough to be expendable) dollars in the zipper compartment of my shoe bag and don't worry about it at all. No valuables to guard that way.

I haven't encountered any partner dancing with her handbag, but if she did shouldn't she be handling it like a man does his sporran? (that pouch hanging in front of a Scotsman's kilt -- hey, I said "pouch", not "paunch" [grin])

When we dance we're supposed to move our sporran over to our left side where it's out of the way. So by analogy I would think that a woman who dances with her handbag should be keeping it over on her right side where it should be out of the way.

Though if the handbag has a long strap, I can imagine that it would act like a mace if we lead her into a spin.

Club dancing, yes, unless you have a small handbag that can go over your head / shoulder.

If I go out ballroom dancing there is usually a group of us where we don't all get up at once and the handbags are left at the table or with someone to look after. Have never "couple" danced with a handbag, that would be a real problem!

Ten years or so ago there used to be a style. A little wallet/handbag on a leather string. That thing was perfect for clubbing. Unfortunately, it's just a bit passe these days.

When I take a bag with me I either give it to a bartender to hold it for me or I hide it somewhere (behind a trashcan or atm machine). Also since I see the same people out dancing every week I just leave my purse there and so far no one has ever taken it. But I never walk around with my purse because I think it would prevent guys from asking me to dance.

I hate handbags! But when I carry one, I let it somewhere on a table with my friends... there is always someone sitting down... :)

What about at wedding receptions, discos  (for the more mature folk   ), house parties etc?

I'm weird, I guess. I rarely carry a handbag in any of those sitations. I just leave in the trunk (boot) and go in, unless I need something, like lipstick or makeup, from my purse.

Like I said, I'm weird. Most women I know can't be parted from their handbag that long without serious withdrawal symptoms. 8)

I have no addiction to my handbag... just to Salsa! that's my one and only addition...

More or less... 'cause my other addiction cannot be specifically mentioned here

    8) 8) 8) 8)
