Hey guys,

Wondering if anyone is going? I've never gone before and was just wondering what it was like and what you thought of it.

Also, I'd really like a partner for the following dances if available:

  • Newcomer American Smooth Waltz
  • Newcomer American Smooth Tango
  • Newcomer American Smooth Foxtrot
  • Newcomer American Rhythm Cha Cha
  • Newcomer American Rhythm Rumba
  • Newcomer American Rhythm Swing
  • Newcomer International Standard Waltz
  • Newcomer International Standard Quickstep
  • Newcomer International Latin Cha Cha
  • Newcomer International Latin Rumba
  • Newcomer International Latin Jive
I'll be dancing bronze with my partner and I've been dancing for a little over 5 months now but I average 12-13 serious practice hours a week. My partner has placed out of newcomer so I'm going TBA but would much rather dance with someone I know is into it (that's why I posted here!) I've done quite a bit of work with ISTD instructors and spend most of those practice hours working with my school's silver dancers. I really pay attention to detail and work hard but I only dance because I enjoy trying to do it well and having fun! This is my 3rd competition, and I have top 15 finishes in several dances at DCDI and other strong results at Cackalacky.

If it helps, I'm 5'11" and 145lbs.

Elena and I are going. Arnold is a very fun comp (though not as competitive as say DCDI or MAC). In addition, you get to hang out and see other sports at Arnold Classic. Just watch out for *VERY* large body builders

At last year's Arnold, there was a demonstration by an adult female body builder (big muscles!) doing a cha cha with a pro male dance teacher. Demo was done in front of Arnold and audience and he seemed a bit blown away when he saw this. BTW, Arnold is very supportive of ballroom dance at this event.

If you are coming in on Friday night check out the Regency ballroom. There is an open dance from 7:pm - 11:pm. This is a dance for the 50+ Dancesport Challenge. All juniors are welcome and we have a discounted price for you. Gives you a chance to practice on the same floor you will be competing on. Look forward to seeing you there. Terry Cavanaugh organizer.

Ily, when I click on a link to get results, it takes me back to the list of competitions.

Maybe the fault is on my end, but I thought I'd let you know.

You have to click 'Recent Competitions Results' link, then 'Arnold Dancesport Classic 2010'.

Yes, that's exactly what I was doing.

"Results by Event Category" is not working right, at least not for me.

The SCORESHEETS work, though, so I got the results that way. :)
Probably I should have just gone to the competition, but no, I was a good girl and stayed home and graded papers and worked out. Darn you, midterm grades!
