Manhattan Dancesport Championship - July 4th weekend!

Anyone going?
How is the competition in amateur syllabus events? big? mostly contested? or small and mostly uncontested?

Last time I went (two years ago I think), it was fairly small but there were at least three couples in both the latin and standard events we competed in. The fact that it is on the July 4th weekend may have something to do with it.
 
Last year standard had close to 30 couples (1st round), with most of the top people, and latin had quarters, (with quite a few names I recognise, but I don't know the latin couples well)....

Most people will be there again...
 
when I went, I think the open amateur latin and standard events had at least a quarterfinal if I can remember correctly
 
cannot WAIT. i can walk to the venue from my apartment in brooklyn - this was the very first ballroom event i ever went to (last year, natch) and i remember how overwhelming the whole thing was.
