Salsa Competition Dress Advice

Being new to salsa and finding myself potentially going to be entered for a competition i am in need of some dress advice. We would be entered in an open amateur competition!
I dance latin American already and did not imagine the costumes being much different, but thought i would come on here for advice.
Are there any do's/dont's with salsa cometition dress, also any advice for the man's outfit? Any links to pictures would be good or any tips advice....
