Best of Luck pygmalion . . .

Hi Jenn,
We're heading out for San Diego tonight . . . hopefully . . . so I wanted to take one last time to wish you the best of luck. We're all dancing with you!

I know you will dance well. And remember, it's not if you win or lose, it's how you feel inside about what you just did. No judge should be able to affect how you feel about your dancing.

Remember . . . your Pro is there for you . . . keep him on the straight and narrow and be ready to rescue him if he screws up

Can't wait to hear from you on Sunday or Monday . . . remember to keep in mind that feeling while walking off the floor right after your first dance is over and each and every dance after that. Oh what a feeling it is! You won't forget it!

Pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D Thanks, Vince.

I've already taken your suggestion and started a diary of experiences and lessons learned through this first competition. I will post Monday, along with lots of photos.

I just got my list of heats yesterday, and it looks like I'll be dancing most of the day. The comp has a total of 220 heats. My first heat is #4, and my last heat #195. So I'll be busy all day, just the way I want it. :D The actual comp ends at 6:30, followed by a break, pro show, and general dancing. So I won't be able to check in until Monday.

But I will be thinking of you, pulling for you and Carolyn at your comp and on the way there and back, and feeling your love and support. Thank you so much. :D

Thanks, Madam Samba.

Today's my easy day. Once through each of the ten dances I'm doing tomorrow, then I'm done practicing. Time to enjoy the fruits of my labor. :D

Thanks for the good wishes. I'll bring back pix!

So how did it go Jenn? Hope you had an absolute blast! ...and I'm looking forward to reading all about it when you get the chance!

Thanks, SD.

As I expected, I had a blast. :D Overall, my scores were respectable. Everything from first place in several of my heats to last place in a couple, and everything in between. I learned SO much, and will post later. That will be a way long post.

I'm going to put my posts in the first competition thread, so people can find the information logically later. But basically, I learned things about myself, things about ballroom dance in general, logistical things about being in a competition, things about people, and things about how the competition system works. Plus a few general things thrown in for good measure. :D

Oh yeah, and the things I learned about costumes I'll place in the pantyhose thread. :D
