How to get a CD out of MAC book?

Need computer help here! I have a ballroom music CD stuck in the CD slot of my MAC book pro. It seems there's something wrong with this CD, it played a few songs on MAC book, then stopped, I clicked next song, the cursor becomes a blue circle, and the CD drive made some weird sounds, I waited for 20 minutes, it did not play the song I selected, I tried to push the button to get the CD out, CD slot didn't open:(

What should I do to get this CD out?

Never mind, I was pressing the wrong button, I figured out, the correct way to take out a CD from MAC book is right click, then select "eject CD", now all ok:) wow, scares me, I thought my brand new less than 2 months old MAC book is broken!

Good to hear! For your sake, and also because I am close to getting a Mac Book of my own for my next class...

I thought you couldn't right click on Macs?? Oh well. :)

depends on the mouse

FYI, you can also turn off the macbook, turn it back on, and usually it ejects the bad CD. Also FYI, I've been having problems with the optical drive and have had it replaced twice.

If have a Mac laptop that doesn't have external mouse with right click button, if hold CONTROL key while clicking over CD/DVD desktop icon, that will simulate right click, then select eject. Another way to eject a CD/DVD is to push and hold Eject button, which is in top right of keyboard. The icon on Eject button looks like a triangle over a bar. Sometimes this eject icon is found in programs such as iTunes next to name of CD that is loaded, and if click this icon, CD will be ejected. If you are using DVD Player, there is an eject button on function control window.

If a program becomes unresponsive (doesn't happen very often), you can force-quit a program by selecting Apple->Force Quit, then select unresponsive program and click Force Quit button. If your laptop is totally locked up, can push and hold power button in top right (outside keyboard) and laptop will shut down after a 3-4 seconds. Then power back on and hopefully problem clears up.

On the majority of computer CD/DVD drives there is also a tiny hole on the facia of the drive which is a 'manual' eject. Use a paper clip ~ insert and push gently. ta-da :D

Since Mac laptop is a slot load type of drive, there is no eject hole. As you noted, other laptops or drive mechanisms may have this manual eject hole.

Everybody RAVES about their MAC... I am ready to join the Apple side...
i was told that once you switch to mac you never go back to PC., like snowboarders never go back to skiing. I only use PC at work, that is the company rule, for personal use i am MAC convert. Good luck
