I'm going to the showcase!

Will probably not do the competition. (Also Dad's b-day weekend, plus have been promising a friend at Columbia I will visit him, and there is some limit as to how much can be done in one weekend!)
 
Slavik & Hanna in New York this weekend

I just checked the web site for the Big Apple Dancesport Challenge (www .columbiaballroom.org/competition/performance.shtml) , and they are still scheduled to appear there.

Is anyone going? I'd like to see some reports/photos/videos!!
 
Wish I was but am totally skint right now - never mind, will see them at the UK next month anyway, I guess. But definitely, anybody going please tell us all about it so I can dream and pretend I was there.
 
I am, and I know Mandicraft and GJB are as well.

I'm hoping CCP will be able to take photos. (Stuffing him with antibiotics as we speak. He's still sick from Ohio.)

There's actually another thread or two about this (one is under Announcements, I believe, and I think I might have started one under Ballroom Dance before I realized that.)
 
As CCM mentioned, I am going. I am not much good as a commentator though. I can predict my review now: "They were awesome" : )
 
i remember seeing on their website there would be standing ticket for $10 or $15. Only first and second row tickets are available online now.

will they still have standing tickets?

Yup, Yup...I'll be there...front row!! Last year, they didn't start selling standing room until I think the day of the competition.
 
so how much will standing room ones be for competitors.. I was going to pass on the show for 55 but if there is another option I would consider :) ?

wow, sick for two weeks? :( must be bad. really hope he feels better. Feed him a lot of hot teas and have him rest well !!!
