Boot Preference

So here's the question which boots make great dancing boots and also secondly are there companies that have a wide selection of Western dance boots?

I currently dance with my Dan Post boots and they are great so long as I don't dance every song starting from 7:00pm all the way to 2:00am.

Seem to be carried in many to most western clothing stores and catalogs.
Sort of like the Wranglers of the boot world.
I'm sticking with my custom made boots, no toe pointing or ballroom like stuff.
Hi, ja011. Welcome.

For man or woman? Our female instructor claims suede soled western boots are the ticket for ladies doing spins. I believe she has hers custom made. But, if you Google Dancin' Around Studio, and then click on Dance Boots you will find some. I can't see buying boots over the internet though. Fit is everything.

My wife just uses suede soled dress shoes, and I leather soled dress shoes, or western boots.

Evening Star is my first and only choice for dance boots, but some times I wear regular dance shoes. I also converted a pair of New Balance shoes to dance by having segmented brushed swede pieces added to the soles, still flexible and very comfortable for those long dance nights.

Chuck, I would love to have my evenin' stars resoled, as they are getting worn out. Does your shoe repair person have trouble finding the chrome soles to replace the soles? I am not finding someone close to us that can do this. Any input? Thanks!

I have used Evenin Star boots for the last 17yrs when it came to dancing and then once in awhile, I try out my leather soled boots......I have to work WAY too hard with my leather soled boots and it wears me out. Evenin Star is the way to go and they fit you like a glove. JMO. :p

I wore out the soles on my evening stars and had them resoled. Just shop around shoe repair shops for a shop the resoles dance shoes. I found a local shop that glued the new soles onto my boot so they are are just like originals. They also did my New Balance shoes and ground the tread down for a better bond and match the original segmentation so the shoes retained the original flex pattern. About $30-$35 each in my area.
