American Rumba Music

Hi Everyone,

My wife and I have been searching through our music collection, and we just can't seem to find a Rumba we like for our performance on Saturday.
Please Help!

One we really liked but don't want to use again is Mummer's Dance by Lorenna McKinnit.

I might add that I am hoping to get an "American Rhythm" tempo rumba. I do have some sound editing software to speed up or slow down if needed.

Mummer's Dance is actually one of my favorites. :)

How about...

Hey - Julio Iglesias
Mi Buen Amor - Gloria Estefan
Breaking Us In Two - Joe Jackson

Can it have words or must it be instrumental? DO you have a preference for a particular "type" of music, ie pop, country, latin?

Checking my MP3 collection now...

I have an MP3 by Adriano Celentano called La Pesche D'Inverno from the album Io Non So Parlar d'Amore. It's got nice percussion.

I'm particularly fond of "El Beso Del final" by Christina Aguilera from "Mi Reflecto" her spanish language album

An oldie but a goodie is I'm Your Lady (or whatever it's called..."cause I'm your laaaaaadyyyyy and you are my maaaaaaaan).

Tony and Melanie did a Rumba to To Sir With Love that was pretty neat. Elton John has a few...Candle in the Wind, Blessed.

Oh, and I really like Rose in Spanish Harlem. These are all old...I can't think of any new ones that haven't been mentioned.

Very cool everyone! I think my top pick right now is Desert Rose by Sting. I just got this free program called Audacity, and I'm working on the fade-ins, fade-outs and walk on/off music.

I gave this thread a new title since my request in no longer "Urgent".

A couple modern songs good for American Rumba

Here are two modern songs I quite like for American Rumba...

Don't Cha by the Pusycat Dolls
Shut Up by the Black Eyed Peas
