Dyeing leather shoes

How do you dye leather shoes? If I buy white leather shoes, can I use a tanning lotion or creme to dye them to match my skin? (would be a good match if I use the tanning lotin on myself then, wouldn't it?) or can I use shoe polish?

Dying leather shoes is not the easiest thing to do. Not withstading the fact that finding white leather dance shoes would be difficult.

Wouldn't it be better to dye white satin shoes?

You can get leather spray at most shoe repair shops, but it's limited to balc, navy, etc. IOW your basic colors. A LONG time ago, I had to dye some leather ballet slippers lavendar. I remember going to a theatrical supply store and getting some kind of spray. Actually, mom bought the spray I was 10.

I shall google....

on the other hand, if in the winter I am pale, the white shoes would match my skin anyway...

also, I they probably won't stay white for long if they are in use. They probably will "tan" naturally very soon 8) :D :D :D

I have a pair of white leather ballroom shoes -- style "Melissa" by Coast, I think. They're out there. (Coast makes some white leather MEN's shoes too. Please don't ask me why. ) I bought my white leather shoes because I wanted the white to go with a white dress, so dyeing never because an issue.

I've known people who dyed leather street shoes -- the shoe repair shop can do it. I've never known anyone get custom skin-tone colors, though. *shrug* :?

Maybe they're meant to be worn between Memorial Day and Labor Day. :)
