Tanghetto - Wow!

Have any of you folks listened to or danced to Tanghetto's electrotango??

All I can say is WOW. It's an amazing, catchy modern type of tango with bits of techno and jazz fused into the traditional tango beat.

Dancing to it is a totally different experience.

Your recommendation sounded good, so I looked into it but couldn't listen to it. (I don't own any tango music, so wondered what this one would be like)In the process, I ended up purchasing 8 new CDs from Amazon. :)

Some competitors, I forget which one, used this music for their routine a few years ago and it was fantastic. Although, I love the traditional tango music. This is great twist on it, I think. Okay, I'm off to the record store!! I love this stuff. Thanks MS!! :car: :D

I tried out Tango Fiesta, which MS brought to my attention, and I really liked it. Has anyone checked out "NarcoTango"?

You can by following MS's original link (click on discography; the song titles are clickable).

Man, I'm really tempted to get this album. I don't dance tango (yet), but one of the tracks on that album sounds like you could dance a great hustle to it. I'm a sucker for crossover music... think lindy to the first track of Gotan Project's _La revancha del Tango_

Finally got to have a listen, but hmmm. Too much techno in it for my liking. Very nice melodies however & would make suitable BGM for my dinner parties...

I have bought NarcoTango on recommendation, but I never play it. Its bleak and boring. Gotan, Bajofondo Tango Club or Piazzolla Remixed are far better for listening and dancing IMO.

We LOVE the new stuff coming out of ATango communities! If you like Tanghetto try Chill Sessions, Chill Out Experience, or Frequent Flyer: Buenos Aires... they are great ATango dance music!

We like traditional but get bored with it... we could dance to the newer stuff all night! And don't prejudge, my husband and I are both new to ATango, and are both 50+.

I saw Fabian performing on one of Tanghetto's pieces (Caida, I think, from the album "Emigrante"). It was pretty nice but I think I would get bored quicker by this kind of performance on this kind of music than by mainstream tango performances (say, by Zotto on Pugliese).

Next I would recommned San Telmo Lounge; Madruga en backcelonia
for a sophisticated jazz cafe tango fusion; totally laid back. 8)
