Holy cow. Three inch heels.

I'm not suer where Isaw it. I think it was either the CBS or ABC morning show where they were talking of the 6 inch heels and a foot specialist said that 2 inch heels are better than normal shoes!

I can't even imagine wearing 6 inch heels, but I agree with the foot specialist...I've had various and sundry foot problems over the years, and have found that 2 inch heels are ideal for me, better than high heels OR flats. Flats aggravate my Morton's neuroma (pinched nerve between toes).

I'm 5'10" and if they made them, I'd wear a size 10.5 US shoes...I don't feel like I have snowshoes for feet....maybe others think that, but they don't seem huge to me! I would be really self-conscious wearing 3" heels though...I'd feel like an Amazon. It would be a great quad/glut workout though...having to keep my knees much more bent when dancing with shorter men, made even shorter because I'd be 6'1"!!!
kudos to you, thespina!

:) I'm an exhibitionist. Obviously. I wore my 5 1.2" platform high heel boots out to a club once and they made me 6'4". I towered over everyone there and it was SO much fun!

I'm lucky with this routine because I have a partner who's very very tall. I wear the three inchers and I'm still a little shorter than him. I think. Or maybe the same height. At any rate, the Amazonness is hella-fun!

I'm using 3.7 inches heels (9.5 cm) and I love to dance in them!
I'm only 1.56 cm high so it helps alot :P

P.S
Sorry about my writing :P

i'm a size 35-36 or US size 5? and I can wear 3.5" heels (4" measured up the back) quite easily, and dance in them, my foot is 23 cm long I think, so if you are a size 10 (UK 8 ) theoretically you actually could dance in in 5 or 6 inch heels because you can scale up, I'd love to be a UK size 4 or 5 - that's the size all the nice shoes are made in! And i'd be more stable on my feet.

Small feet are worse than big feet- according to my ex they make your ankles and calves look disproportionately chunky and they look like pigs trotters. And often you look like you're wearing your mums shoes because of the new "vanity" sizing (most UK size 3s are really a 3.5 or 4 :( ) so they don't fit.

Vanity sizing? I like that term...they do that here in the US with clothing. I can hardly wear size smalls because they feel closer to a "medium" so you have to look around for true size smalls!

You have little feet! You can get nice dance shoes your size, but it's probably harder over there (esp if you like COmme il Faut shoes). A 35 is a US 5 and a 36 is about a US 6. I wear a 36 with a foot length of 23.5cm.

I'm waiting to see how specs shoes turn out when they arrive, she's a 34 so if they fit and are nice I might think about buying some in a 35...
High heels are great, they do magical things. If they make you very tall whats wrong with that? When people clock you they see 3 feet of pure leg and you can't say that's not attractive... there's a reason models aren't 5'1" (not to diss little people-i'm one! they have their attractions too...) there is just something about those extra few inches that transform clothes...

In my shoes i'm 5'4" which feels incredibly tall to me, but I'm still below average! It's so funny-people are shocked when my shoes come off "where's she gone?"

shoes

hey -- I agree that you should just try as much as possible to break them in.

I was told once that it actually helps to have a wide variety of heel heights to tone your legs.

I'm not so sure about doing a marathon in 3" heels, but, I do agree that if you use a variety it helps your feel/legs in general.

So I tend to switch between low, med, and high heels for dancing, partly to keep the shoes in rotation but partly because it just creates a balance between muscle memory and giving the leg/calve muscles a whole range of workout.

Three inchers are starting to feel very natural now actually. Didn't take long. The parts of my body rebelling the most are the balls of my feet by my big toe, and my quads. But even my quads are fine now. Just took a couple of days for them to catch up.

Sounds like you'll be ready for 4" in no time! good luck!
PS dancing in high heels gives your legs a whole different work out-a very good effect i think. Good for your glutes.

So you'll be dancing with those in no time :D
