What are you excited about in your dancing right now?

am excited to work on the story of my showcase dance, now that the new, showier choreo is complete (3rd try's the charm!) Not usually a fan of excessive story-ness, but it's needed to help me show consistent emotion in this dance. Can't wait til Friday's lesson!

Another point of stepping backwards to move forward.

Relearning Rumba and Cha Cha basics and going to be hammering away at it for a week straight for many hours before having pro reevaluate it. Hopefully won't have to redo it again for a bit after this, even after 2 days it is already looking/feeling much better.

doing my first showcase ever with my partner on Saturday! we are debuting some of our new routines. actually mostly all new routines. its rather exciting. there will be 2 or 3 never before seen routines at the showcase. it is scary but exciting!

Everything. :D I've only just started lessons, so almost everything's new (see the Members Introduction Index in 'Dancers Anonymous' - sorry I'm not allowed to link to it - for a brief explanation of the 'almost'. I've come into this by an unusual route). Tonight we're focusing on the tango, which we started last week, and I'm really looking forward to that. It seems to have a bit of the paso attitude, the paso being my favourite of the two dances I did in the competition.

the first time I danced with my eyes closed. what was that! wow!is that the meaning of dance, I wonder?

to tell you the truth, yesterday about the only thing I could get excited about in my dancing was my practice ending....not exactly the best of days for my dancing. but as they say, tomorrow is another day!

Starting to make a priority list of the main things that can improve my dancing over the next few months... there is so much to work on, but I am starting to figure out what are the main areas of focus for improvement.

I'm actually really excited that my showcase is over. It was this past Saturday. It went ok I guess. I still had trouble in the same spots as always. They didn't magically fix themselves the night of the performance, go figure.

But it's over, and now I can focus on something else. And that I am excited about. And I'll also be excited to see the showcase routine on video. Good, bad, indifferent, I still cant wait to see it. That's the only true test of how it went.

I'm excited about things that used to seem so difficult, are becoming the norm. Of course, then you just get other difficult things layered over that, but still... I am trying to smell the roses as I go.

understanding the feel of ease, grounded-ness, dynamics, upper body elasticity, and good lead/follow and how all of it works/feels together when done correctly - wow!!

I'm excited and thrilled that after so many years of group lessons followed by private lessons, I've gained the confidence to develop my own "dance personality".

Now that my figures and foot positions are technically correct and come naturally, I really feel my expression, confidence, animation and personal style are shining bright!!

I can identify with that! You spend ages struggling with something, then you suddenly crack it and it's brilliant; then two weeks down the line you're thinking "What was WRONG with me? This is dead easy!" It is an activity in which you can really see progression, which is very uplifting.

that my basics, control and understanding of movement has progressed to the point that I can produce most of what is asked of me fairly quickly (long term takes more effort since it's more repetition based)....
