    Foot exercises for wearing heels?

This seems like it should be a common topic, but I searched quite a bit and didn't find what I was looking for. When other girls were learning to walk in heels, I was still wearing tennis shoes. When I did finally develop an interest in looking more girly, I could never get the hang of it...

Looking for info on spinning without spotting

Thank you Larinda, I will read those threads! To answer opendoor's question, our primary dance is West Coast Swing, so the majority of my spinning issues are there. But we are working our way through most of the major dance styles so all styles will come up eventually. My big problem isn't...

Looking for info on spinning without spotting

I have done quite a bit of searching here, actually - while there is lots of discussion on spinning, most of it ends up discussing spotting. I know there are other techniques, I just haven't been able to find much info on them. Maybe I'm just not searching for the right keywords?

Looking for info on spinning without spotting

My spins need serious work, and yet I cannot spot (eyes don't focus quickly plus neck problems). So I've been hunting for resources that might help, and not finding very much. All of the spinning threads I've found here talk mostly about spotting. I found mention of one video, Turns & Spins by...

    Ouch!! New Shoes!!

Let's see... I have some fancy dance shoes from Werner Kern, and a pair of "standard" WCS shoes from Anna Kern. I also have another pair of fancy ones from Coast that I haven't tried yet. The shoes I'm wearing most right now are an oxford style from Coast, and they fit pretty well (but would...

    Ouch!! New Shoes!!

pygmalion - Yes, those are close. My memory is vague but I'm pretty sure they were from Buster Brown. All patent leather, with a low heel and I think a buckle, no strap. I had my last pair when I was about 10 - 11 and grew out of their largest size. I loved them, even though they killed my...

    Ouch!! New Shoes!!

I think I actually have more problems with shoes being too loose than too tight - it's the rubbing that does me in. I do get pedicures occasionally, but I didn't get them for years and still had this problem so I don't think they are at fault. I do tell them to skip the paraffin treatment...

    Ouch!! New Shoes!!

Oh yes. :) I was taping like crazy, and often had to stop to reapply after the tape had come unstuck or rolled up and became a problem itself rather than a solution. This was starting to really annoy my husband, which is why I resorted to the socks. At least now I don't have to stop multiple...

    Ouch!! New Shoes!!

I also think it depends on why they're not comfortable, and also on your specific feet. In my case, my feet blister very, very easily, and always have. I've gone to wearing socks with my shoes and they're fine that way, so it's not a fit issue, it's a "thin skin" issue. I don't really want to...

    Ouch!! New Shoes!!

While I need holding in as much as the next gal, I can't stand the heavy duty stuff. Especially this time of year; the place we dance the most is not very well air conditioned, and most of the women are wearing capri yoga pants and tank tops. Of course, most of the WCS dancers are quite a bit...

    Ouch!! New Shoes!!

Is there a brand of soft fishnets you would recommend? I've only worn them a few times and it wasn't terribly comfortable, so I must not have had the soft ones. I have only had one pedicure in recent memory so I don't think that's the problem.

    Ouch!! New Shoes!!

Sorry about the delay... my thread got combined with this one and it took me a while to find it! I don't think I'm in danger of getting bunions from these shoes; they're pretty lightweight (just straps, mostly). And it's not that the straps are too tight - rather, they rub when I dance...

    Ouch!! New Shoes!!

No, they're leather. They don't seem tight when I put them on; my toes slide into them easily. But after a while, ouch. I have the same problem with open-toed pumps - the edge of the opening tends to cut into the side of my toes. This is why I usually wear sneakers! :)

    Ouch!! New Shoes!!

Breaking in shoes - how long to keep at it Hi, This is my first post here - I found this website through my Google search for info on this topic. I have a pair of Anna Kern WCS shoes, very similar to the Supadance 1426 model that most people wear. They seem to fit fine when I put them...
