THAT , clearly displays the "slot" style ( as I said ) even has a throw away and a' dressed ' up ' Whip ' . Totally different to the other vids .
The one thing I really dis like is "Ballet " arms .
The comps I judged were much more advanced and complex than but that ( mainly Prof ) was clean and well executed (the music was not my taste ). Listen to the music of Voyage the best of the era ..
Shay is considered to be probably the best hustle dance in the worst currently, he trained by both Billy Farado, Ralph Ramirez and Alex Kim. He is actually also an excellent salsa and wcs dancer and competes in triple threat competitions. I've seen him social dance in person, its quite amazon to see something of the things he leads.
Also the ballet arms has been somewhat a point of contention in recent years. Followers tend to love doing them, even in a social setting. There are important in the judging for competition, but there is a grass roots movement starting to de-emphasize them as a necessary thing, as long as you doing some sort of expression with your arm. I personally like doing them because I have long arms.
Also that competition I believe doesn't allow lifts or tricks. Here is one of him with adagio:
I think with the introduction of the specific hustle cabaret competitions, you tend not see as many tricks outside of it.

But he is a quite lazy dancer, compared to Benji Schwimmer, and thats not a style isssue!
I am curious about your comment, would mind elaborating?

Concerning the Bye Baby vid, Shay is rather standing than dancing: not much footwork, not much motion, rather centering and let the girl do the work.
Does Benji Schwimmer also Hustle? I couldn't find any vids of it. Do you have a favorite hustler?
Do you prefer someone more of Boris's style?

No, only WCS and freestyle. But I commented on Shay beyond any special style in mind.

I would really love to see names or videos of what you guys to consider to be good hustle dancing and why you consider it to be good. I would really like for this to be a discussion were we could exchange viewpoints.
I'll also admit I wasn't particularly impressed by Shay's competition dancing. It wasn't until I saw him social dancing live that I understood he is considered so.
