They said it couldn't be done, but it happened. The first ever Dance Forum reunion was held November 16, 2011, after the milonga at Lo de Celia Tango Club.

In attendance were: Steve Pastor (moderator), Lily of the Valley, JohnEm, and Jantango. We went for empanadas nearby the milonga.

Our meeting wouldn't have been complete without a group photo, but it will not be uploaded here at the request of one member.

Steve is on a trek in southern Argentina where it's very cold. JohnEm is staying in BsAs until March, conveniently located at a tango guest house only one block from Jantango.

If anyone else is coming down, please let me know so we can meet up at Lo de Celia.

It was great to see you all... a little surreal. Thanks, Jantango!
JohnEm, stay where you are, and dance, dance, dance. I am coming back soon. :)

As Janis has said, I'm here for a while so maybe I'll still be here,
or there as far as you're concerned at present. See you to dance
if you're back in time.

It's been real fun meeting Janis and she is an enormous help.

The next day another dance friend who lives just a mile from me in
England and I met up with Steve again at El Arranque. Both were in transit
on the way to Patagonia for different trips. Janine was picking up a boat
for a cruise to Antartica. Afterwards we went to La Americana, claiming
to be the original BsAs fast food joint established in 1935 and "La Reina
de las empanadas". I recommend the puddings too, and going just to see
the sometimes frenzied activity. You can choose to sit normally as we did
or eat in the standing areas in the servery in the middle of it.

@JohnEm When do you leave in March 2012? I will be there from 10/11.

Maybe we could arrange a meeting then.

You mean we have to be 7000 miles from home in order to meet!!!
Don't we know each other already? Pilands/Totton/ALNS/Bramshaw?

I'm guessing you know who I am, there are enough clues!
You are just a little more mysterious.

However I return just before you arrive.
Such a shame, we are destined not to meet.

In Punta Arenas right now, waiting for Pisco Sours and dinner. Flying out tomorrow.
The weather turned warm after Calafate and Chalten, as we crossed over into Chile.

Very much enjoyed the two milongas I went to. And you know, I think the women most enjoy dancing to the music. Thats what I saw when I walked into Lo de Celia, the milongueros clearly dancing the music. It put a big smile on my face to watch, then later join in the dancing.

JanTango was very gracious in making sure we got to where we needed to be, and even made sure we got back to our respective ¨residences¨.

@JohnEm It is ironic to meet the other side of the world.

I think all the Johns I know that tango are currently here in the UK. I do dance at Bramshaw and Eton. The south coast is quite long you could be from Totnes to Canterbury.
