How has df benefitted you?

So I am a stranger to lots of folks on here...but...I used to be on here...um...frequently ... which had me reflecting upon the many ways in which I have benefitted from participation:

It has provided me with countless friendships and acquaintances for which I am truly grateful. Honestly more than I can safely list without risk of leaving someone important out...but over 20 to be sure

It saw me through countless personal as well as dance related difficulties...some of the darkest hours of my life

It facilitated my agency over my own dance progress by accelerating my learning curve about all aspects of dance and the business itself.

It taught me alot about how to diplomatically navigate difficult people

Those are just a few

C'mon, PNP, get to work; you've got some catching up to do

DF gives me a connection with the ballroom world that I wouldn't have otherwise, since I live so far from any ballroom studio. I really appreciate the chance to chit chat, share advice, commiserate and congratulate with other people who get it, because I only occasionally get to do that in person.

I am thankful for how much I have learned from df. Things that instructors assumed I knew, but i didn't. Things I did not ask instructors because "I did not know what I did not know".

I am also thankful for all that I have learned from DF, especially with regards to competitions. It has helped me develop more reaonable expectations. Of course, it has also made me a dangerous student because now I'm armed with lots of knowledge. And I enjoy reading other people's experiences and perspectives.

I also appreciate the friends I have made here, and being able to see and support a few of you in person at comps.
