Personally I started with El Choclo - I also cant hear that without having visions of my first class coming into mind.
I asked because I am advising (I think that is the word) someone who wants to run a taster class. Do you think it makes any difference what music you choose if the class is a taster, rather than actually a "beginner class" as such ?
yes; I would add La Yumba, and a broader selection of music; maybe include some Sassone,
as well as the classics Jan has mentioned above; Felicia by Carabelli and Tanturi & Campos for the creamiest of singers; with broad basis of easily heard rhythmic instrumentals with additional different flavours.
