New Years Eve

Hello everyone,

(and merry christmas!) I just moved to London recently and had so far not a chance to discover the London Tango Scene, but I would like to start now. In Berlin, where I am originally from and where I learnt to dance a couple of years ago, the Tango Scene is a bit closed - meaning, going to a Milonga alone without knowing someone can be a bad experience for a woman; you just sit around and no one asks you to dance. An evening is there nearly doomed to be so if you go out on your own on New Years Eve. I was dancing in other cities and there it's much more 'open' to Newcomers. Can someone give me a hint if it is a good idea to go out on New Years eve?

Also, are there New Years Eve parties? And what are the 'best' Milongas in town? I am not only new in the city, but have also stopped dancing for a bit of time (my last environment didn't had the opportunity), so i am feeling 'double newbie' ...

Thanks for any hints!

Hi Segolene,
I am not in London so I am not able to help you. Here I am to bump your post up so that there is more chance that the question will be noticed by someone from London.
Wish you good luck and happy New Year!
