The video makes a good point: Dance on your feet, not on your partner. I viewed it some time ago. Unfortunately, it demonstrates exactly what is happening in Buenos Aires milongas because of bad teaching. I knew a couple years ago who taught their students to lean on one another because they gathered that is how milongueros/as dance. Not true.
During my first visit to Buenos Aires in 1996, a partner asked me to lean on him. It seemed strange. I had always danced every other kind of social dance maintaining my own weight. After dancing with him a few times, I didn't have to lean on anyone. No man wants to carry his partner.
When a milonguero says, "te llevo" (I carry you), he doesn't mean it literally. The fascination with the word apilado has confused many dancers. A milonguero takes a woman in his embrace to dance.
Those who teach try to give too many details talking. Instead they can get their point across by dancing with students.
