Six months in Argentina?

It all depends. What part of Buenos Aires would you like to stay at? Do you want a place for you alone or don't mind sharing? How many lessons a week are you willing to take, and from whom? Etc, etc.

..About a year ago, I remember hearing someone with experience in BsAs say that they would need $1,000 a month to live there and do the Milonga scene.
..of course after 3 mos. you will have to take the boat to Montevideo and return in order to get the next 3 mos... one would think that you'ld have to have a return airplane ticket when first landing with a 3 mos. return flight booked already.

I would say $1000 to $1500 depending on what you order the Whopper or the Happy Meal.

IIRC, prices look like American prices. Whatever you'd expect to pay for a great meal here is what you'll pay in Argentine pesos there. Difference is, with a great (for us) exchange rate, it's much cheaper.
When I was there we went out to a couple of really nice dinners, that looked like they were costing ~150 (Argentine pesos) each...which translated to about $50. That was with appetizers, steak, dessert, cocktails, wine, yada yada.
The difference that we found is that, much like all of life, you either pay with money or you pay with time. In this case, be prepared to spend a ton of time at the restaurant. It's both nice and frustrating.

Yep and add in something for the therapist sessions
(or maybe not - every second person in the City is a therapist or so Im told..)
