What does "connection" mean to you?

I think I once felt my heart chakra open up while dancing. I was filled with this incredible feeling of warmth for everyone; an amazing burning sensation inside along with a serene a sense of well-being.

Of course, it could have also been the extra spicy tacos I'd eaten the hour before. Hard to tell.

Mmm. Tacos.

Wait, what were we talking about?

well there could be a link between the two; heart is fire energy and hot spicy food is fiery.

Chakras; okay ( DB I am drawing on my inner hippy to write this ;) )

There are seven major chakras running down the body four minor chakras and a couple of off the body chakras which we need not concern our selves with.

The primary chakras (IMO) involved in dancing tango are firstly the base chakra, secondly the sacral chakra, thirdly the solar plexus chakra and fourthly the heart chakra. My experience of chakras is that energy feels like a fountain that goes out of you then returns. The chakras are linked internally and most chakra work is aimed at balance of the energy so to say that the other chakras are not involved may be a misnomer. the throat chakra relates to communication and since we are receiving the music I would say that this has to be involved. The brow chakra or third eye relates in part to intuition so it may be that it is awakened by our response to the music and inspiring that to movement.

My experience of chakra energy is that when you feel it it emanates up to about 18 inches from the body, but this will vary. A black guy I knew had a heart chakra field that I could feel four feet behind him.

I have noticed that there is an embrace where the woman’s hand is round on the man’s back and for any one who want to try this if the mans hand is over the centre of her back and hers in the same position; you can imagine an energetic flow between the two hands to improve the heart chakra connection.

I cant comment on how open the chakras are in Argentine people, particularly as city dwellers inevitably have to close their chakras as its an unnatural way for human beings to live. Also the sound spectrum of tango music is fairly limited and there is little in the way of over-toning harmonics that can be produced by chanting/singing or Tibetan singing bowls. Singers such as Enrique Campos or İbrahim Özgür (1905-1959)
or Oscar Larroca with fairly rich voices.

Um...what in blazes is a chakra supposed to be? I read, and reread your post, btm, and I've still got no clue. I think it could just be out there for me.

lol. thats why I didnt bother to go into it in the first place; most people have difficulty standing on their own two feet and on one leg; getting chakras involved is pretty far down the line of what people need in order to create a connection.

I'm sure your chakras are just fine. :)

Huh. I'm only marginally convinced that that contained English.

I think I'll just stick to my worldview that doesn't involve these things. If and when I ever sense the existence of my chakras or anyone else's, I'm just going to conclude that someone has slipped me something. Hopefully it'll be a good trip. (Mystical thinking is completely lost on me. There's a reason I'm an atheist.)

of course it has been proven that sceptics have the best chakras of all :)

on a tangent I saw a big guy dancing jive with a girl and their moves were so tight it was like acrobatics, and he made it look effortless. I rarely see tango dancers in a salon have that electricity.......
