Do you ever feel like you have a hard time balancing (what seems to be) the competing ideas of "living your life as you see fit as an adult" versus "showing respect"? If so, how do you balance them? (I always feel like I have a hard time with this.)
I'm sure it includes but goes much deeper than choices along the lines of what you put in and do with your body, which is always a source of mother-daughter conflict. Not as big as what you choose to do with your money.

My mother keeps telling people (including me) that at 25 I've never had my "wild time". You really think I'm the exception, that I'm the only 20-something in America who hasn't had their share of bad decisions and various.. less than legal behavior. The thing is, I just haven't told her about most of it. And I'm shy so I tend to give off the impression of innocence to anyone who hasn't learned better.

Peaches, I can't imagine what you do that your parents consider disrespectful?

Random: What a strange day. My workplace is closed for the holiday. We always get 2.5 days off for Christmas. But all around me I can hear signs of life. Sounds like a lot of folks are back to work.

I won't lie. I kinda like it. *grin*

Also random: I bought DS Tony Hawk Shred for Christmas -- a skateboarding video game for the Wii. He didn't like it and asked me to exchange it for Final Fantasy XIV. Okay. Whatever. That's fine. He's really into online gaming.

But yesterday, when he was inviting his skateboard-crazy buddies over for a sleepover, he kept telling them that he had Tony Hawk Shred. I have no doubt that they're expecting to play TH when they get here on Saturday. What would you do? Exchange the game? Not? I already asked DS and can't get a straight answer out of him. I'm guessing he wants me to do both -- keep Shred and buy Final Fantasy.

What would you do?

I've been exploring some cool job opportunities, excited about that...

The massage therapy business I currently work for has three offices and the one office has been selling a lot of gift certificates... But then people are trying to redeem them at one of the other offices. If they bought the gift certificate from Julie, it is paid for, she got the commission, regardless of whether anyone came back to redeem them for a massage. I'm not giving a massage I won't receive commission for. Her location makes it easier for her to sell those things and she sells a lot of them. If nobody comes back to redeem them, she still got paid. I have to actually do the work to get paid. LoL.

Is it terrible to be happy about getting more dance opportunities because a popular follower just moved away?!

To answer my own question, no but it is terrible that you fantasize about the other girls disappearing so you can have more dances.

It's kind of amazing how much you use your trapezius in the course of a normal day...one of those things you don't realize until it hurts like hell.

BF is checking his emails, and answering them!

Miracle!

(Not that it helps. 'Hey, what's happening with NYE?" "Umm...I don't know"
Cool)
