The bottom line is that someone who is a non-US Citizen needs to have documentation that merely allows them to travel out of and back in to the United States.
So, for example, a single-entry visa is not acceptable. Neither is an expired or "overstayed" multiple-entry visa. Also, permission to live and work in the US is not necesssarily sufficent. USA Dance has been accepting current multiple-entry O1, H1B, F1, and B1/B2 visas, among others. And of course we accept documents of permanent alien residency, such as the "green card."
People's visas must be in order before dancing at Nationals. For example, having merely filed for an extention of an overstayed visa would not be acceptable -- the approval of the extended stay would also have to be in hand.
