The 2007 Harvard Invitational Competition
will be held on
Saturday-Sunday March 10-11, 2007
at the
Malkin Athletic Center in Harvard Square

Expect world class judges, almost all 19 dances at every syllabus level, and for the first time ever, a Formation Team Competition!

Details will be posted on our website towards the end of the end of November, but for now, save the date!

Same weekend as the NDCA Nationals at BYU ...
hope this helps . . .
Based on printed programs and first-hand observation the past two years at the NDCA Nationals at BYU,
The top Open competitors show up in Standard and Latin, BUT relatively few come from outside of Utah for syllabus through pre-champ

Nope. Admission to the ball is included with registration.

Interesting... Haven't seen them live before. They have a unique style of latin which I'm curious about.

Will they also be offering lessons?

the harvard website said 90/lesson, 25/workshop.
i also checked out the couple's website, it is new and nice, but not in english. so i only go through pictures, which seem to be very attractive.

fantastic!
want very much to see them dance in person! I like their dancing a lot on video.

will semi and finals of prechamp and champ both be in the same evening session?

explaining my confusion:
on your website it says open events are during the day up to semi of open.
Champ is called open in your schedule. Does that mean only the champ semi and final is danced during the evening session?
In other words, is prechamp and "open" event?

Sorry for the confusion! We consider Champ and Prechamp for International, and Open for American to be "Open".

At the Ball, we will ONLY do the finals. So the quarters and semis will happen before the ball.

Do you have any suggestions for a better way to phrase this on the website? I've been thinking about it but every forumlation I come up with seems more confusing than what's already there. But I agree that what is there is a little confusing.

Thanks!

Yup. Peter and Kristina will be available for private lessons on Friday, March 9, 2007 and Sunday, March 11, 2007.

Peter will also be offering workshops for Chacha, Samba, Rumba, and Jive, on Friday evening, March 9, 2007. The workshops are scheduled from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. The order for the workshops will be determined shortly.

Private lessons are $90 and workshops are $25 for each 45 minute session. Space is limited so sign up now! Contact comp@harvardballroom.org. Be sure to specify:

Which day you want private lessons - Friday or Saturday.
Who you want your lessons with - Peter or Kristina.
What time you would like your lessons - between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm on Friday and 9:00 am and 2:30 pm on Sunday.
which workshop(s) you would like to attend - Cha, Samba, Rumba, Jive.

Correction, sorry!

I made a mistake with private lesson prices. Lessons with the Stokkebroes will actually be $120/lesson (and this includes floor fees). Lesson will be at eXtreme Dancesport in Cambridge.

Workshops are still $25/session but there is now a package discount of $85 for all four sessions. The workshops will be held at Harvard on Friday March 9 with the following schedule:
6:00 pm - Chacha
6:45 pm - Samba
7:30 pm - Rumba
8:15 pm - Jive

I'm really sorry for the inconvenience.
