2010 MIT Open & Show Couple announcement

I've been asked to post this on behalf of the competition committee. Please find the non-binding survey below, and respond by Tuesday at noon EDT. Those who respond will get first priority to the Mirko and Edita lecture in case of space limitations.

--------------
During their visit to MIT, Mirko and Edita will hold a lecture on Sunday, April 25. The time of the lecture will be around 1 pm after the syllabus latin section of the MIT competition. The cost is $30 per person.

This post is to see how many of you are interested in the lecture and to decide in which location to hold the lecture. Please respond to the survey by clicking on the link at the end of this post and submitting the form. It is important that you submit your response as we are choosing between a venue with the limit of 50 people and a bigger venue. The deadline for your response is SATURDAY NOON, MARCH 13. Priority will be given in the order of the responses to this survey.

That aside, Mirko Gozzoli and Edita Daniute, forming an exciting new partnership, are former World and Blackpool Professional and Amateur Standard Champions. After the success of his last performance at MIT in 2007, Mirko and Edita are offering a unique opportunity to attend a lecture catered to all dancers from beginners to experienced professionals. If you want to learn from the best, this may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

You might want to ask the competition committee to double check whether Edita has won the world and British professional championships, or to clarify its wording.

Or do the titles just go with the men now, irrespective of who their partners are?

The lady is a former IDSF World champion.

Also, there's a thread on the MIT Open in the announcements section of the Forums. Folks should register!

last I heard, well over 40 people have replied, but the not necessarily enough to warrant a larger(more expensive) room. so... if people are interested, they should reply to the survey to get priority, and push the committee to get a larger space. :)

Was this announcement sent to last year's comp attendees for input? Because I only stumbled upon it by accident (and the response deadline was.... two days ago?!?).

How long the lecture will be? Will this be same length as the lecture in Starlight in mid February around one and half hours?

Hi everyone, just wanted to update folks on the show couple. As many of you know, many flights from Europe have been canceled or delayed due to the volcano. Although no official word has been put out by the competition organizers, I will be blogging and twitting about Mirko & Edita's status, as well as covering the competition as a whole,
