The first Kansas City Dance Classic (KCDC) last September was well attended both by Kansas City area dancers and USA Dance competitors from outside the area. (Article in Jan-Feb American Dancer Magazine, flash player required).
So the sponsors decided to do it again. This year's KCDC will happen September 6, first Saturday after Labor Day.
This one-day comp is "USA Dance listed", which means that it is not a nationals qualifying event and proficiency points are not awarded. Otherwise it is run by the USA Dance Rulebook and recognized judges from out-of-town are used (Larinda judged last year). More information about the event is given on the Kansas City Dance Classic website. This event is also listed on the O2CM event page, with O2CM used for online registration which is now open.
