Ask questions, meet dancers, and be part of the conversation.
Maybe she's koffing bcs she knows I have to pay for each single dance, but I don't have to pay for recalls; so it's a better financial deal (for me personally) to enter fewer events - but for those events to have the possibility of recalls. If I get recalls, I get to dance more times (without paying more money). If I don't get recalls, I at least still have the opportunity to watch the other dancers who DID get recalled.is that a "good idea" koff, or a that's way too expensive, what you are thinking crazy person koff? Guessing the latter but not sure.
Contests, no matter how large, are only as pressureful as we make them.
Au contraire…I am giving you a challenge!![]()
Agree with and like your overall post, Fiesta. But on this point, for Pro/Am, events tend to be as pressureful as Pro and Am make them. I think in PNPs case, Pro will have a pretty strong (irresistible?) tendency to add more pressure with increasing (perceived) prestige of event and increasing heat size. And quite possibly in a non-linear manner. And given that PNP will be physically attached to him while dancing, well, it's not like she can completely escape his response/expectations/etc to the situation.Contests, no matter how large, are only as pressureful as we make them.
This is exactly what I was thinking. It's definitely a lot less stressful, not to mention less expensive, dancing in an in-studio event with no judges than competing at an out-of-town expensive big competition.Anyway, I’m just collecting data. I haven’t had a lesson in almost 2 weeks, so I don’t even know if Pro will be on board with this idea. Like you, he will probably say to himself, “What?!?! This chick needs to make up her mind. Wasn’t she the one who refused to participate in the recent Fun Friday because she thought it would kill her self-confidence???”
Ah, so drinking contests it is!
it's a "PnP and I just had this conversation and I want to reinforce my opinion" koffis that a "good idea" koff, or a that's way too expensive, what you are thinking crazy person koff? Guessing the latter but not sure.
Ah. We're still curious about your opinion if you are willing to share.it's a "PnP and I just had this conversation and I want to reinforce my opinion" koff
Pro & I discussed this at length at my lessons last week. He is VERY MUCH on board, and he did not think I was being schizophrenic (or flaky or crazy or stupid) in doing such a complete turnaround mentally. He said decisions like this have nothing to do with logic, anyway.I haven’t had a lesson in almost 2 weeks, so I don’t even know if Pro will be on board with this idea. Does anyone know if there is a competition for single person (not a couple)?I've checked NYDF's entry forms. For 2 set of singles (4 dances only, 8 total), one championship event and one scholarship event, I will pay a fee of $580 total. The first prize for the scholarship event is $200. Go figure.
Breakdown of fees: scholarship $100, championship $160, singles $40 each.
