I appreciate this thread and support because me being able to share a little... can go a long way in my self expression as a dancer. (again my attempt to address and respect this thread) So I say thank you and intuition now tells me it's probably time to lurk again.
You need to do what is best for you (lurking vs posting). I personally hope you continue to find ways to share your dance journey here. I think it is important to hear different viewpoints. And in your case, to hear how a person who is in the minority in the dance community finds that affects their dance experience. You won't change everyone's view, but you may open the eyes of some who were unaware of the barriers you face, and the unfair treatment you sometimes receive.
You might also try posting some non-controversial things (dress choices, how your lessons are going, which shoes hurt your feet the least, which dance you love or are struggling with, etc) in various threads, to let us get to know you a bit better, and participate in a more neutral way. This might possibly be easier/less emotionally charged for you. And it may give you a chance to feel a different sort of support as a dancer. Up to you, of course.
A couple of notes -
1) Things can easily get misinterpreted on internet forums. When I read the phrase you wrote that seemed to provoke a reaction in some, I wasn't quite sure exactly what you meant, so I shrugged and didn't think much of it. Others interpreted it in various ways, which may or may not have been what you meant. My point is just that the potential for misinterpretation can lead to all sorts of arguments that might not have happened with in person conversation. I'm not making excuses for anyone. It's just something to keep in mind when reading and posting things.
2) Another aspect of potential misinterpretation on forums is context. Someone may hit a post button to reply to the general thread topic with their thoughts. This might come right after someone else's post, but the person posting might have been replying to the thread in general, and not to the person posting immediately before them (they may not have even read the whole thread or that post). Other times of course they are replying to what was said in recent previous posts. It's not always easy to tell the difference.
3) Also, if you find any poster is frustrating you, we have an ignore button. It's helpful for cases where you think a person may trigger you and you'd prefer not to be triggered and/or not to engage. You can ignore and unignore as needed. Even if you go back to lurking, this can be a helpful feature so that you can enjoy the content you want without reading the same arguments over and over with folks who upset you. (No doubt some have hit the ignore button on me - fair enough.)
Anyway, I hope you feel support from me. I have different challenges than you do (health issues in my case, for example, not racial discrimination). So please forgive me if I accidentally say the wrong thing. I haven't been in your shoes. But I wish you the best and wish fervently for improvement in how you are treated and how you are able to be in the world.

PS - I was typing while the last few posts went up, FWIW. And I do think that miscommunication was part of the issue at hand here. Sending hugs.
