hello everyone,first post here

i m 25yo and i decide to learn how to dance cos i m a terible dancer
as a teen i prefered working out and doing sports rather dancing
which i m regreting now
i took a hip hop class in the past but didnt liked it and quit it
now all i want is to learn how to dance in clubs
it;s quite embarasing to don;t dancing while all your friends do

so i wannt tohelp me with this by providing vids that will help me to learn

Take lessons, and get over what it is about them that you dislike. Videos are not teachers, they're supplemental tools. This is if you want to learn actual dancing.

For the most part, nobody needs to actually learn club-style dancing. You need two drinks for courage, and the ability to flop around like tennis-shoes in a clothes dryer, in a crowd of people.

you can google for those vids....as hedwaite said, sort of, if you want to dance there is no real quickie available....you have to commit and invest ....look for studios in your area

Speaking from my own dance experience of about 1 year. I've been taking ballroom dance lessons. The steps I've learned so far are difficult to perform in the clubs I visit, because they are so crowded. There is usually not enough room to perform them without hitting someone. A few steps and techniques from international latin can be transferable to clubs though (don't know about the american styles). My guess is that some hip hop lessons are more beneficial to club dancing, though I have no experience in that.

While I haven't learned a lot of moves for clubs, these lessons have definitely improved my confidence in my own dancing. Standing up straight and having confidence in yourself is usually enough to get by in clubs. People are usually not paying that much attention to other peoples moves anyway, at least not the places I visit. But you can always put on some music and bust a few moves in front of the mirror. You just might create a few cool moves.

Providing you syllabus videos would only help so much, as taking lessons would be infinitely more valuable. My advice would be to visit a local ballroom dance studio (preferably not a franchise), and take up start up lessons. They'll at least get you moving. Give it at least 5 lessons though before you give up on it. Many of us have had to work for years to become comfortable on the dance floor.

So, alcohol does help. ;)

Most of the really good hard core Latin club dancers (and Westies) I know didn't take many (if any) formal lessons - they went to clubs and learned by watching and doing or asking friends/family to show them some things. However, I think taking a few lessons to get a few basics down would be a good idea. If nothing else, it will give you some confidence to get on the floor and try things.

If you're talking about freestyling, just hit the floor and spaz around. You'll fit right in.

Physicist Richard Feynman wrote about how his fellow students would take lessons in secret. Reading the old books by people like Arthur Murray, it's obvious that there were lot of people who didn't want anyone to know they were taking dance lessons.
Makes me wonder.
