I got this rly big problem people, i can't move my body.

i go out to night clubs every weekend, its not that i got problems with girls and stuff im rather good looking, also im not shy at all.

the thing is i never dance when im out with my m8ts or hunting for chicks and the reason is when i do, it looks like some [idiot] is dancing, its not that im shy to do it, i sometimes go out alone just to dance for fun and not to impress girls then i dont care how it looks cause im just relaxing and having fun moving to the sound, (even if its probably absolutly out of sync with the beat)

my question is the following to you guys, my aim is not to be able to dance with a woman like rly well and not to be able to do all these partner dances like salsa etc, i just want to be able to look decent while dancing in a night club, and be able to move up to girls while dancing for a change.

how can i get there is there special lessons where i can learn how to move in a night club to dance, minimal, electronical, house musik etc? or whats the way to do it.

if seen some threads already where people ask my question in a bit diffrent way and a lot of people tell them to take salsa lessons, my aim here is rly not to be able to dance salsa, i wanna be able to dance in clubs with hard beats. if salsa helps me for that in any way pls explain me why.

sry for my bad english its not my main language i gave my best.

i'm going to ibiza next week clubbing for 2 weeks (for me its just chatting up girls and getting drunk acctually) CAUSE I CANT DANCE

ty for some good respons whith some ideas that i can go for

for example you shuffle to hardstyle, now what do you dance to house musik or minimal, also i can't seem to find any dance schools giving shuffle lessons for example, i mean isn't there schools that teach you like tektonik, shuffle and the dances you do to other club musik?

Youtube is your friend, search for the dance styles you mentioned.

They say when all you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.

Most people here concentrate on partner dancing, so to some extent would look at non-partner dancing as just re-using some of those skills without the partner. And to some extent that works. It could even be a practical path for someone not comfortable with dancing at all to gain comfort. But it's not necessarily the best path, just the one that may seem most approachable to people in this forum, since it's the path we followed.

so what do you suggest?

Club dancing 101 : latingal style -

Learn to move your feet in a simple pattern to the music first. The easiest is just using a side step and then bringing the other foot to "touch" next to it and then repeating on the other side. Lift your knees slightly (not as high as marching) and land each step with the ball of the foot first and then land the heel. Again, it's not marching, it's more like shuffling. Practice doing this to the beat of the music.

As you get more comfortable with this and loosen up, you may notice that your hip wants to swing toward the side step foot after you've landed the heel on that step. Let it! Now your feet and hips are moving.

For me this is the basis of all club dancing. After this you just learn to change the speed at which you dance (using quick and slow actions with feet and body) and how to isolate your hips and ribs/shoulders in different rhythms. Which of course takes practice! Dancing should feel good in your body, experiment with listening to the different rhythms within the music and trying to interpret it with your body/feet.

Good luck - latingal

I would suggest two things. As someone already said, scour youtube for some videos. But to really learn how to feel the music, you could try locking your bedroom door, putting the music on loud, and just rocking out. You should at least have an idea of wht you want to look like, from youtube and your previous experience at dances. ] Use a large mirror if you have one, and don't be afraid to look like an idiot. You're alone in the room, and you're not just trying to "look good" here -- you're trying to figure out how to move your body the way you want. Once you can do that well enough, then concentrate on what looks good.
